The Basics of Post Frame Construction

• Holes are drilled to below frost line at each post location

• A concrete pad is poured at the bottom of each hole: the posts sit on this foundation pad

• After the concrete sets, posts are set and aligned

• Holes are backfilled, taking care to keep the posts aligned

• Splash boards, girts and plates/headers are installed onto the posts

• Trusses are then placed on the plates/ headers and braced

• Building alignment is checked and adjustments made if necessary

• Wall cladding and roofing materials are installed
