The Basics of Post
Frame Construction

Holes are drilled to
below frost line at each post location
-
A concrete pad is
poured at the bottom of each hole: the
posts sit on this foundation pad
-
After the concrete
sets, posts are set and aligned
-
Holes are backfilled,
taking care to keep the posts aligned
-
Splash boards, girts
and plates/headers are installed onto
the posts
-
Trusses are then
placed on the plates/ headers and braced
-
Building alignment is
checked and adjustments made if
necessary
-
Wall cladding and
roofing materials are installed
